You, O Yahweh, sit enthroned forever; your throne is from generation to generation. Why do you forget us forever? Why do you forsake us so long? Cause us to return to you, O Yahweh that we may be returned; renew our days as of old, even if you have utterly rejected us and are exceedingly angry with us.
Lamentations 3:38-40 ESV
[38] Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and bad come? [39] Why should a living man complain, a man, about the punishment of his sins? [40] Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord!
